Observatory of Consumption 2026 – Demographic Shock in Europe: When Consumption Changes Age

Methodology

Quantitative consumer interviews were conducted by Harris Interactive from November 19 to December 01 2025 in 10 European countries: Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

A total of 10,930 people were surveyed across the different countries. These individuals aged 18 and over were drawn from national samples representative of each country.

The quota method was employed to ensure that the sample was representative (gender, age, region of residence, socio-professional category/income). 3,133 interviews were conducted in France and more than 830 in each of the other countries.

The economic analyses and forecasts were performed in conjunction with the survey and consulting firm C-Ways, specialists in Anticipation Marketing.
